Rafe’s death leaves an unanswered question

Jason Thompson (Patrick, GH)Honestly, although the death of Rafe was sad, it wasn’t a huge loss. We never really invested in Rafe. Had he and Molly actually become a couple, the loss of Rafe would have been much worse. But we only saw Rafe on occasion, so we didn’t even really know him very well.

Yes, it’s always sad when someone dies. And yes, it’s especially sad when the person is so young. But aside from Molly, nobody really knew Rafe very well.

There was a pretty huge question raised by Rafe’s death though – who made him run Patrick’s car off the road. And why? Was it Victor Cassadine? With news that Kim McCullough (Robin) will be back this summer, that could be the answer. I’m not sure why Victor would want to harm Patrick, but it’s a possibility.

I wonder how long it will take for Nikolas to forgive Britt. You know he will, it’s just a matter of when. I honestly believe that Nik and Britt will get back together. I don’t know what that means for Elizabeth though.

So in saving the best for last – what is Levi’s game? We know he called the judge and made sure Maxie lost her case. Now we know Levi called immigration on himself. All of that just to make Nathan look bad? That seems extreme to me. But Levi clearly has an agenda. I wonder if he’s someone related to the Scorpio family. It seems awfully coincidental that Levi is from Australia. We still don’t know the circumstances that led up to him meeting Maxie. Whatever his story is, Levi wants to hurt Maxie. I just can’t chalk all of this up to petty jealousy. There’s something much bigger brewing here.

In actor news, Kim McCullough (Robin) returns to the soap this summer. Although the cast is on a July break, McCullough has already begun filming. Her first air date has yet to be released. Fans of “Julixes” won’t want to miss Michael Logan’s interview with Nancy Lee Grahan (Alexis) and William DeVry (Julian). Read the interview here.

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
