Spinelli gets caught in the FBI's headlights & the hospital crisis begins

Jason Thompson (Patrick, General Hospital)Poor Spinelli – talk about a deer caught in the headlights.  You gotta feel sorry for the guy.  First, the woman he adores seduces him to keep him away from someone else.  Then that “someone else” turns out to be an FBI agent trying to get the goods on him.  It was a little disappointing to see how easy it was for Winifred to gain Spinelli’s trust.  Given what he does for a living, I would expect Spinelli to be much more cautious.  Maybe Maxie was right when she called Spinelli “child like.”  The cherry on top was the arrest.  Honestly, I think Spinelli would die in prison.  Obviously Jason feels the same, given the agreement he made with the FBI.

Claudia is still as amusing as ever searching for Jerry’s DVD collection.  She’s positively frantic and dare I say, possessed.  It looks to me like Claudia will literally blow up any second.  She’s so tightly wrapped, I just find her irresistible to watch.  I’ve become a huge fan of Sarah Brown and her portrayal of crazy Claudia.  I’m at the point where I genuinely care about Claudia.  I actually want her to find the DVD’s before Sonny does.  I think Claudia has a lot of regret in her role in Michael’s shooting.  And as much as she protests, I believe Claudia does want to find a man who loves and respects her.  I’m not sure that man is Sonny but it could very well be.

I’m still not that interested in Nadine and her family patent.  I could have done without the whole Washington scenario.  No matter how hard I try, I just have no interest in investing in Nadine.

Strangely enough, I’m not as bothered lately by the interaction between Jax and Carly.  Jax seems to be changing for the better and he seems to hold Carly in higher regard since New Year’s Eve.  Laura Wright positively shines as Carly.  She’s simply stunning and just a delight to watch.  I’ve never been a huge fan of Jax but I adore Ingo.  He really appeals to me lately.  In his recent Soap Opera Digest interview, Ingo spoke so highly of Laura Wright – it just impressed me.  And judging by that article, fatherhood really agrees with Ingo.  Check out the article in the January 6th issue of Soap Opera Digest.

I’ve been reading that the unrest between Jason and Sonny is “staged.”  I might believe that if they weren’t hostile when they’re alone.  Then again, the walls have ears in both Sonny’s house and Jason’s office.  So I guess it would make sense for them to be overly cautious.  The word is Sonny and Jason are “pretending” to be on opposite sides so they can take down Anthony.  It makes sense, but I’m not sure I believe it yet.  I almost hope it’s true though.  Maybe Sonny will take down Anthony and “save” Claudia by falling for her.  I think they make a great team.  And I hate seeing the animosity between Jason and Sonny.  Both have made mistakes and part of friendship is forgiving, forgetting, and moving on.

The hospital crisis began on Thursday.  I can’t comment too much, simply because I’m having such a difficult time following it.  The backwards time thing is very confusing.  I think it worked beautifully for the Metro Court story but it’s not working so well here.  Unfortunately, I’m reading that people will die during the crisis.  Just who will fall victim to the tragedy remains to be seen.  I hope this story isn’t used as a tool to kill off the cherished vets that we don’t see enough of as it is.  Either way, I think we’re in for an exciting week.  Hopefully as time goes by, the story will be easier to understand and follow.
