Your soaps pre-emption schedule and fresh peeks for the New Year!

Jill Larson (Opal, All My Children)All My Children

Happy New Year everyone.  On Thursday, January 1st, All My Children is pre-empted thanks to ABC network holiday programming.  But Friday is sure to be jam packed starting with Opal (nice to see Opal once in a while, isn’t it?) who takes a peek into Greenlee’s future.  What does she see? Is it good or bad?  Either way, does Opal share the news with Greens?  At the same time, Zach and Reese may have over stepped a bound or two. Question is, what do they want to do going forward?  They want to put their kiss behind them, naturally.  But will they really be able to do that?  The week winds down as Aidan makes a surprising discovery.  What does he find out? Does it have something to do with Annie?  Tune in to All My Children this week and see.

As the World Turns

In a valiant gesture, Noah stands up for his man. To put it plainly, he punches Brian after he sees a drunk Luke kiss a drunk Brian and misinterprets the kiss.  Will Luke be happy or not about Noah’s behavior?  Meanwhile, Derek has bad news for Jade when he reveals that he wants nothing to do with her. How will she react?  Later, Allison kisses Casey.  Is only a one time thing, or do the two find themselves lip locked more than once?  Finally, it turns out that Meg is indeed on Paul’s side when it comes to his visions.  In fact, she is quick to remind Dusty that Paul’s visions have paid off in the past.  Does Dusty buy in?  Be sure to watch As the World Turns this week and see.  But don’t forget.  The show is pre-empted on both Wednesday and Thursday this week. Happy New Year!

Bold and the Beautiful

The Bold and the Beautiful is pre-empted on Wednesday (on the west coast only) and Thursday this week.  But we do have a few sneaks on what’s going to happen on Friday.  To wit…Owen and Donna’s “surf line” fashion show gets an unexpected show stopper.  Will it prove to be good or bad for business?  At the same time, Ridge and Brooke arrive at the cliff overlooking the beach in Malibu in preparation for their wedding.  Do they share a romantic moment, or does something happen to interrupt them?  Tune in to the Bold and the Beautiful this week and see.

Days of our Lives

It’s New Year in Salem and the moment won’t pass without someone sharing a New Year’s kiss at midnight.  Is it Max and Chelsea?  Sami and Rafe?  Philip and Stephanie?  While the young couples are welcoming in January 1st, Nicole gets a surprise when EJ proposes.  Will he get the answer he wants to hear?  Find out when you tune in to Days of our Lives this week.  But remember, the show is pre-empted on Thursday, New Years Day, thanks to NBC network holiday programming. Happy New Year!

General Hospital

Okay, so let’s get the administrative stuff out of the way right away. General Hospital will air an encore episode on Wednesday, New Year’s Eve and is totally pre-empted on Thursday, New Year’s Day due to ABC network holiday programming. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get to some fresh peeks for this week, starting with Claudia who is walking on some pretty thin ice.  She scrambles to cover her tracks, but is it too little, too late? What will Sonny do when he finds out – and you know he will – that she was the one who orchestrated the ill-fated hit that ended up putting Michael in a coma?  We gotta believe it ain’t gonna be pretty.  Then, as Claudia struggles to hide her misdeeds, her brother Johnny finds himself on the wrong side of the law – again. What die he do this time?  The week wraps up with Nikolas and Nadine who make a surprising discovery.  What do they find?  Flip that switch to General Hospital this week and see,

Guiding Light

It’s all about Alan this week, or so it seems.  As the week begins, Olivia gets mad at Alan for confusing Emma about Philip. What has Alan done to set Olivia off?  Regardless of how Olivia is feeling towards him, Alan vows to get Springfield back – one block at a time.  Later, Beth gets a proposal of marriage. From who?  Coop or Alan?  More importantly, does she say “yes?”  Shortly thereafter, Daisy and Grady exchange rather expensive Christmas gifts.   But how can they afford to be so generous?  Finally, and a little to his chagrin, the town honors Shayne for his good deed.  Why is he feeling so uncomfortable about it?  Find out when you keep your eyes peeled on Guiding Light this week. But remember, the show is pre-empted on both Wednesday and Thursday. Happy New Year!

One Life to Live

Happy New Year!  One Life to Live is airing an encore episode on Wednesday, and is totally pre-empted on Thursday due to ABC network holiday programming.  The show is back up and running in real time on Friday however and here’s what’s on the docket.  First up, Marty pulls the rug out from under Todd.  Oh yes. We knew she had something up her sleeve.  Later, though, Cole and John are unsettled by Marty’s actions.  Just what is she planning?  Finally, the week wraps up when Dorian gets quite an earful from Alex Olanov.  Is Dorian’s goose finally cooked?  Tune in to One Life to Live this week and find out.

Young and the Restless

No First Looks/Fresh Peeks for Y&R this week fans.  But, based on all the other CBS shows, and the pre-emptions we know are scheduled, we are betting, and this is an educated guess, that the Young and the Restless will be pre-empted both Wednesday and Thursday, but check local listings to be sure.   Happy holidays, all and we should be back up and running with your Fresh Peeks  for the Young and the Restless in a week or two. Stay tuned.

Inside the Bubble ~ Days of our Lives Nick Stabile

Playing Dean on Days of our Lives was an enjoyable challenge!

When Nick Stabile took on the role of Police Officer Dean Hartman on Days of our Lives, he said, "It's not the first time I have been in the barbeque." He was, of course, referring to some of the previous roles he had played.  But one has to admit that orchestrating a plot to kidnap the Police Commissioner's daughter for revenge of not getting a department promotion will keep you in the coals.

For the past several weeks, Stabile has given an exuberant electrifying performance in terrorizing little
