A Review of the Switched at Birth storyline

Powerful Images, Powerful, Risky Story

Typically at Soapdom we promote images from the week's upcoming episodes of selected shows.  One week we may feature General Hospital or Bold and the Beautiful. Another week it might be Young and the Restless or Guiding Light.  Some weeks we may even highlight more than one show.

This week, however, we are doing something a little different.  We are rewinding back to the events that occurred on All My Children last week.   We were able to secure a wealth of photos from last week's powerful AMC episodes.  With this springtime storyline, Switched at Birth, really heating up now on both All My Children and on One Life to Live, we could not pass up the opportunity to rewind to last week for AMC's dramatic developments.

Not that this baby-switch storyline isn't already generating controversery among Soapdom's rank and file.  We have recieved correspondence detailing a deep aversion to the storyline. See Your Letters for a typical comment.  Whether you're appalled by the story or intrigued by it, there was certainly a lot that happened last week.

If you missed any day last week, check out the All My Children Episode Guides.  Type in the day and date for the show of your choice.  Then, sit back and remember, it's only a soap. It's only a soap.  In the end, justice and good will prevail, the perpetrators get theirs and most likely, loving mothers will be reunited with their rightful children.  It may take the next 30 years to play out, but imagine the story potential down the line for Bianca and Babe on AMC and Kelly and Paul on OLTL. One thing is certain.  This risky storyline will greatly impact many different lives on both shows.

50 Years of Days of our Lives ~ 50 Years of an iconic theme…

When Bobby Hart and his songwriting partner, Tommy Boyce, were commissioned to write the theme song for a brand new soap opera over 50 years ago, they had no idea whatsoever that it would still be running on air, five days a week, twice a day for 50 years.

"I am blessed," Hart revealed to Soapdom, being grateful for its longevity and Days' Executive Producer, Ken Corday, keeping the Boyce & Hart theme song airing all these years.

You may not recognize the name of the songwriting team of Boyce & Hart, but odds are, if you or your parents were around in the mid to late 1960s, you are more than familiar with their music.
