She's diabolical in her evil scheming as temptress Rebecca Hotchkiss on NBC Daytime's Passions. But in real life, Actress Andrea Evans, is all for doing good.  Today, she has been named the 2003 Celebrity Ambassador for City of Hope’s Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer for the third year in a row.  Evans, a long time supporter of the City of Hope, has a particular affinity for the biomedical research and treatment facility as her mother is a breast cancer survivor.  Walks for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer will take place in approximately 30 cities across the country to support breast cancer research at the City of Hope.

“City of Hope is proud to welcome Andrea Evans back as the 2003 Celebrity Ambassador for the Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer,” says Steve Mackel, senior director of Development for national events at City of Hope.  “Andrea’s dedication to spreading the word about these important events helped us make Walk for Hope 2002 our best year yet, raising more than $2.6 million for lifesaving breast cancer research at City of Hope.”

“I’m honored to have been named the Celebrity Ambassador again for the upcoming Walks for Hope.  The past two years have been an amazing experience for me.  I think one of the most gratifying aspects is having seen entire families walking together for the cause.  It’s important that we continue to get the word out about the extraordinary efforts being made by the City of Hope to find a cure for breast cancer,” notes Ms. Evans.  “I am committed to making this year’s walks even more successful.  I know we can make a difference.”

The Emmy Award-nominated actress currently portrays Rebecca Hotchkiss on the NBC daytime drama, “Passions.”  She is also well known for starring roles on “One Life To Live,” “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
