Meet the Winner of Round Three!
During the third week of voting in the "All My Children" Search for the Sexiest Man in America contest, the third round of five semifinalists raked in an overwhelming total of 314,385 votes via abc.com and cellular text messaging. Votes received via cellular text messaging increased by 5,000 from the first week.
Andrew Springer, a 22-year-old teacher from Burke, VA, has been named the third of five finalists. Mr. Springer joins Douglas Seibert and Timothy Heinrich in being selected amongst 25 semifinalists who are competing for the title of Sexiest Man in America and a role on the popular ABC Daytime drama.
In the coming weeks, viewers have the chance to vote on two additional finalists, as the 10 remaining semifinalists are introduced, five per week. The five finalists will appear on a special episode of "All My Children" in October when the winner is announced. Voting continues through Friday, September 12.
"All My Children" received Outstanding Drama Series Emmy Awards in 1998, 1994 and 1992. In addition, the program has received three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team. "All My Children" is the recipient of two Writers Guild Awards and two GLAAD Media Awards (2001 and 2002). In 2003 the show received 17 Emmy Awards, more than any other Daytime drama.
Jean Dadario Burke is executive producer, Megan McTavish is head writer with Conal O'Brien and Angela Tessinari directing. "All My Children" is produced in New York and airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (1:00-2:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
