Mathison returns to AMC with new experiences and new perspective

Cameron Mathison (Ryan, AMC)Cameron Mathison is One Busy Actor

AMC fans are tickled pink that Cameron Mathison is back on their favorite soap in the role of Ryan Lavery.  He left AMC about a year earlier to head out to the west coast and try his hand at prime time and feature films.  He was successful in landing a number of guest-starring roles in dramas like C.S.I. where he played Danny Pasquelle in an episode that aired January 9 2003, and sitcoms like The Drew Carey Show where he played a character called Kirk in an episode that aired in September 2003.

During his time away from AMC, he also got married and had a baby.  According to Mathison, fatherhood has given him a much clearer sense of his priorities.

No sooner did he return to AMC, two of his other high-profile projects aired on television.  He played Gary in "See Jane Date," with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel's Charisma Carpenter for the Lifetime Network (which also starred OLTL's Linda Dano), and just last Friday, September 5, 2003, he appeared in a guest-starring role on The WB sitcom "What I Like About You," playing alongside series star Jennie Garth. His character had the cutest collection of stuffed animals, leading a disappointed Garth to believe this tall, dark handsome hunk was gay. On the contrary, the animals were trophies given to him by each female conquest to commemorate their nights of "togetherness."  Naturally, Garth was taken aback.  "Hey," Mathison said in character.  "I haven't gotten a new one in two months!"

Mathison is happy to be back on AMC but is likewise as pleased with his time away from the show.  "As an actor, I've gotten to do a lot of different things, so I've grown a little bit," he told Soap Opera Digest for the 8th Annual Behind the Scenes with Soap Opera Digest Mall Tour. We're sure he'll put what he's learned to good use on AMC!

Days of our Lives Guy Wilson: playing Will is a dream come true

The day Guy Wilson stepped in to play Will Horton, a beloved gay character on Days of our Lives, it was a day that his dream came true. "Oh without a doubt. I remember driving in and pulling into the lot. I kept thinking this is cool!" Wilson said. "Then when I got on the soundstage with the cameras and the lights started going on, I was like getting a little nervous. It was all surreal."

Did he have reason to be nervous? Of course! Not only is Will a coveted role to the show, but the part was previously played by Chandler Massey, who has won two Emmy Awards portraying Will. But for Wilson it is a job going to work. Massey left this past August to go back to college.
