In a 3-hour broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the 30th Annual Daytime Emmy winners were announced tonight, Friday, May 16, 2003.

Vanessa Marcil (Brenda, GH)Backstage, Vanessa Marcil (Brenda, GH) borrowed the cell phone of LA-based ABC entertainment correspondent George Pennachio to call her mom to share the great news of her win.  Susan Flannery (Stephanie, B&B) echoed what she said on stage, that her 4th win as Outstanding Actress was becoming an embarrassment of riches.  Maurice Bernard (Sonny, GH) removed his bow tie, loosened his collar, and admitted that he’d worked hard for this award and coming from his peers, he felt that this was the biggest honor.
