AMC's Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) and Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake) join fashion guru's Finola Hughes (Anna, GH) and Lawrence Zarian to host

Rebecca Budig (Greenlee, All My Children)Special Music Performance By Jordan Pruitt Will Kick Off Red Carpet

Rebecca Budig,  Ricky Paull Goldin, Finola Hughes and Lawrence Zarian team up to host SOAPnet’s 2008 Live From The Daytime Emmys two-hour special on the red carpet on Friday, June 20 from 6 – 8 PM ET/PT.  The show will feature all the inside scoops, fashion secrets and more from the industry's brightest stars leading up to the Daytime Emmy broadcast on ABC at 8 PM ET/PT.  The special will begin with a live musical performance of “Her Shoes” by Hollywood Records recording artist Jordan Pruitt.  “Her Shoes” is featured on Pruitt’s upcoming album “Permission to Fly.”  The CD will be released exclusively at Limited Too July 22, with a wide release to follow later this summer.  Tupelo-Honey will produce the live red carpet show.

Budig, who is best known of her role as Greenlee Smythe Lavery on “All My Children,” will chat it up with the stars as they step out of their limos and on to the red carpet. She has numerous successful hosting credits including host for “Full Frontal Fashion,” post show round ups of “The Bachelor” on ABC Family and is an occasional co-host of ABC’s “The View.” Additional television and film credits include “Hope & Faith,” “Guiding Light,” “Batman Forever,” “The Perfect Child,” “Out of Practice,” “CSI” and the television pilot, “The Beast.”

Goldin, who currently stars as “Dr. Jake Martin” on “All My Children” and is best known for his role as “Gus Aitoro” on “Guiding Light,” will get up close and personal with the stars on the red carpet and before they enter the Kodak Theater for the big night.  No stranger to Daytime, Goldin has also appeared on “Another World” and “The Young and the Restless.”  Additional television and film credits include “Baywatch,” “Alf,” “Kate & Allie” and “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.”

Hughes and Zarian will team up to dish about all things fashion.  Since shoes are one of the most important fashion accessories, they will also man the “Dr. Scholls’ for Her” shoe cam and at the end of the show and the fashion experts will announce the winner of the Dove Dark Chocolate “Most Fashionable Moment of the Night.”  Hughes successful hosting credits include Style Network’s “How Do I Look?” and live red carpet special for the 2004 Primetime Emmy Awards.  Additional television credits include “General Hospital,” “All My Children,” “Charmed,” “Blossom,”  “Pacific Palisades.”

Zarian has numerous hosting gigs under his belt including TV Guide Channel’s “The Fashion Team” and co-host of KTLA’s “Live from the Academy Awards” (2004).  Recently, he gained notoriety for appearing on the critically acclaimed dramatic series Nip/Tuck. He has also been a correspondent for Style Network’s “How Do I Look?,” “Live with Regis & Kelly,” “The Tyra Banks Show,” “Extra,” and “Dr. Phil” among others.  Zarian’s Daytime work includes stints on “Days of Our Lives” and “Melrose Place.”

This year, SOAPnet’s Live From The Daytime Emmys will also go behind-the-scenes with Jack Mackenroth, the HIV Positive season 4 contestant of “Project Runway,” as he creates a one-of-a-kind gown for Heather Tom of “The Bold and The Beautiful,” who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress.  SOAPnet will reveal the final look on the red carpet, and her gown will later be auctioned off on ClothesOffOurBack.org and the money will go to AIDS related charities.  In addition, “Good Morning America’s” Sam Champion will review the nominees of the final four categories including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment, Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Lead Actress.

SOAPnet.com will feature red carpet coverage from fashion expert and “Project Runway” Season 2 alum Nick Verreos, as well as coverage from our fierce SOAPnet.com reporters Sam Sarpong and Jelynn Rodriguez. The website will feature a live blog from the Emmys, red carpet slideshows straight from the event, and streaming video straight from the red carpet — and the show — shot by fan favorite celebrity nominees!

Viewers will also have the chance to see what it’s like to attend the Daytime Emmys.  SOAPnet.com will be placing video cameras at 20 of the tables for actors and actresses to capture all the excitement in the Kodak Theater on their big night.  The footage will be streamed on SOAPnet.com, giving viewers insider access into the exclusive event.

I'm really looking forward to this pre-Emmy show. Perhaps you'd like to know that this is Ricky Paull Goldin's Third Red Carpet pre-show as a host (I think it's three; it might even be more). He didn't host last year (probably because he was nominated) but the two years before that he was a wonderful host. No wonder SOAPnet invited him back!
