Stars from daytime come out at night to honor the best of the creative crafts

David Canary (Adam/Stuart, All My Children)The 35th Annual Creative Arts & Entertainment Daytime Emmy® Awards were presented at a black-tie gala at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in the Time-Warner’s Columbus Circle complex in New York City on Friday night, June 13, 2008.  More than 1,000 performers, producers and craftspeople involved in daytime television, including drama, talk shows, children’s programs, game shows and lifestyle programs from both the East and West Coast congregated at a single ceremony to honor the winners.

Stars from drama shows included: David Canary (Adam and Stuart Chandler) and Brianne Moncreif (Colby Chandler and David’s onscreen daughter), All My Children; Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord) and Brittany Underwood (Langston Wilde) from One Life to Live;  Ellen Dolan (Margo Montgomery Hughes) and Colleen Zenk Pinter (Barbara Ryan) from As The World Turns; Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) from The Young and the Restless; Murray Bartlett (Cyrus Foley) and Bonnie Dennison (Daisy LeMay) from Guiding Light.

Although some of the categories in the Creative Arts & Entertainment awards like 'Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control For A Drama Series" are far less glamouous than "Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series," without these talented technicians and artisans, the soaps could not go on.

ABC took away most of the creative arts awards for drama series, with multiple awards going to One Life to Live, As the World Turns and Guiding Light.  There were two ties.

Past Blast

Jeanne Cooper knows how to jingle those bells

If anyone knows how to haul out the hollies and deck the halls it is Jeanne Cooper (Katherine) of The Young and Restless. And she does it in pure Katherine Chancellor style in real-life.

"Of course! Class all the way. I wouldn't have it any other way," Cooper jokingly said. "Every year I look forward to the holidays, the decorating, the family, and the food."

Christmas Day is big at the Cooper household. It's a gathering place for the children and grandchildren, but this year, some of Cooper's children will be celebrating at a villa in Italy, while others will celebrate with her here.
