In a groundbreaking move, the ABC Television Network is not only airing the 33rd Annual Daytime EMMYs in 2006, but they have moved up the broadcast date from mid May to April 28th, and they are taking the entire show to Hollywood for the first time ever in the history of the Daytime EMMYs.

The broadcast will air during primetime on Friday, April 28, 2006, from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre, it was announced jointly by Brian Frons, president, ABC Daytime and Peter Price, president, National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Additionally, Mr. Frons announced that ABC Daytime's popular talk show, The View, will host the nomination ceremony at a date to be announced. The nominees in all major categories will be announced live on the air by The View co-hosts, Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, along with a stellar lineup of Daytime performers.

ABC Daytime consists of The View, All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital. ABC Daytime is number one among the key demographic of Women 18-49. General Hospital was the recipient the 2005 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama.

Kodak Theatre is the crown jewel of the Hollywood & Highland Center retail, dining and entertainment complex located in the heart of historic Hollywood. The 3,400 seat theatre opened in November 2001 and soon thereafter became known to more than one billion people across the globe as the first permanent home of the Academy Awards(r). Kodak Theatre is operated by TheatreDreams LA/CHI, LP.

The National Television Academy is a professional service organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry.
