Nominees Comment on The Honor
CBS’ The Young and the Restless garnered the most nominations for any daytime drama, walking away with 16. They had 12 nominations total last year.
NBC’s growing-in-the-ratings Days of our Lives, always extremely popular with the fans, pulled in only 3 nominations this year, one less than last year. Guess the Serial Stalker Story line isn’t generating as much buzz in the industry as it is in the ratings. But NBC’s freshman soap, Passions, took in a record 7 nominations this year, including one for Outstanding Achievement in Directing for a Drama Series.
“The nominations bring Passions’ Emmy nods to 23 since the series debut on
The ABC television network received 50 nominations.
Although CBS’ B&B only received one nomination in the acting categories (Jennifer Finnegan for her role as Bridget nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress), the show did garner one for Outstanding Daytime Drama. Figure that.
Overall, CBS received 53 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, topping all other network totals, with all four daytime dramas nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Here’s what their nominees had to say when they heard the great news:
