30th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards to be Broadcast Live on ABC
The View to Host Nomination Ceremony

The 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC on Friday, May 16, 2003 it was announced jointly today by Brian Frons, President ABC Daytime and Peter Price, President, National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.  The ceremony will be broadcast from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall live from 8-11 PM ET.

Co-Hosts of The View (Photo courtesy ABC)Additionally, Frons announced that ABC Daytime’s popular talk show, The View, will host the nomination ceremony live Wednesday, March 12, 2003 from 11 AM – 12 Noon ET.  The nominees in all major categories will be announced live on the air by The View co-hosts and an all star line up of daytime’s best and brightest stars.  The entire episode will be a special broadcast dedicated to daytime television.

Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Joy Behar of The View are the dynamic team of women who share their daily, no-holds-barred opinions and colorful conversation. The unmatched chemistry of the four co-hosts is the original forum where real women discuss relevant, everyday issues.

The National Television Academy, whose total dedication is excellence, is a professional service organization for all aspects of the Television, Cable, and Satellite industries. Its symbol of excellence, the Emmy, is awarded in six major national categories including Sports, News/Documentary, Daytime, Technology, and International (through its International Academy.)  Local Emmys are given in nineteen regions across the United States. Beyond Awards, the Academy has extensive educational projects, scholarships, publications, and major activities of impact to both industry professionals and the viewing public itself.
