General Hospital was the big winner in the drama series categories, taking home five Daytime Emmy's this year. 

Days of our Lives, received a record number of nominations, 15 in total, and took home two Daytime Emmy's tonight. 

The Bold and the Beautiful and They Young and the Restless garnered one Emmy each in the drama series categories announced at the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards broadcast, live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA and broadcast for the first time on HLN.

And the Daytime Emmy goes to...

Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis Davis on General Hospital is nominated for an Emmy this year in the Outstandng Supporting Actress category.

However, due to a previously scheduled committment, she will not be able to be at the awards ceremony in person.

She will, however, be tweeting live.  She just posted this to her Twitter peeps.

"Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Daytime Emmys this year due to the fact that I refuse to wear Spanx in the summer. Just kidding. I wear Spanx 24/7 all year long."
