How does the saying go? Life imitates art? Art imitates life? This week on Days of our Lives, art is definitely imitating life. As there is a major presidential election ahead of us in the United States this year, there is a major mayoral election taking place in Salem. It is pitting the upstanding and above reproach Abe Carver (James Reynolds) against the not so upstanding and many times nefarious EJ DiMera (James Scott). In the middle, is of course, EJ's sister and Abe's wife, Lexie (Renee Jones). Does Abe have a plan up his sleeve?

Kate Mansi, who started airing on Days of our Lives as Abigail on March 2, 2011 is facing a lot of turning points for her character in 2012. Currently, she's in a love triangle with Chad (Casey Deidrick) and Melanie (Molly Burnett), there's a definite chemistry brewing between her and the much older and very married, Austin (Patrick Muldoon), and the possibility of a very cool job is on the horizon.
Soapdom just adores Days of our Lives’ Renee Jones (Lexie). Not only is she drop dead gorgeous, she is sweet, kind and generous. We had the opportunity to chat with her a few days ago about Days of our Lives, upcoming Christmas plans, and the fact that she reminds us of Halle Berry. You’ll never guess what she has to say about that!
Not only is Days of our Lives going full speed ahead in bringing back fan favorite characters, they are also pulling out the stops when it comes to casting intriguing new ones.
On Tuesday, October 25, 2011, rumor leaked out due to a story on the Huffington Post that Lisa Rinna, ex Billie Reed Days of our Lives, was returning to the soap. From the published HufPo story, we learned that Rinna's character would hit Salem much in the same way that James Franco's Franco infiltrated General Hospital.
