Who Wants to Marry My Dad star goes from reality to soaps

\"Heidi1st-Time Actress Signs Contract Role with Passions

BURBANK -- August 18, 2003 - Heidi Mueller, one of the daughters featured on NBC\\\'s summer hit reality series \\\\\\\"Who Wants to Marry My Dad?,\\\\\\\" will join the cast of NBC\\\'s daytime drama \\\\\\\"Passions\\\\\\\" in the contract role of Kay Bennett - the scheming and manipulative daughter of Harmony Police Chief Sam Bennett and his wife Grace.  The announcement was made today by Sheraton Kalouria, Senior Vice President, NBC Daytime.

\\\\\\\"We are delighted to have Heidi join the talented cast of \\\'Passions,\\\'\\\\\\\" says Kalouria.

On the reality series, Mueller was the opinionated daughter of Don who put his trust in his four kids to choose a wife for him.  Through outrageous secret tasks, surprising revelations about each player\\\'s past and \\\\\\\"lie-detector\\\\\\\" tests, the kids recently picked his fiancée.

\\\\\\\"Who Wants to Marry My Dad?\\\\\\\" averaged a 3.9 rating, 11 share among adults 18-49, tying it for the #5 ranking among all prime-time series this summer. The reality series won its time period over CBS\\\' \\\\\\\"CSI: Miami\\\\\\\" with four of its five telecasts in 18-49. \\\\\\\"Who Wants to Marry My Dad?\\\\\\\" also averaged 9.3 million viewers overall, making it a top-15 series by that measure.

Mueller is the fourth actress to take on the character of Kay Bennett.  The role was originated in 1999 by Taylor Anne Mountz, who left the show in July of 2000 to return to her scholastic pursuits.  Gina Marie May took over the part for a month until the role was recast with Deanna Wright in September 2000. Wright has just completed taping her scenes and will air through Ocboter 6, 2003.  According to a spokesperson for Passions, Wright is choosing to leave the show in order to pursue other ventures.
Mueller is set to start taping the week of September 8, 2003.  Her first broadcast date is scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2003. \\\\\\\"Passions\\\\\\\" will mark Mueller\\\'s acting debut. How will the new face in the familiar role impact the lives of the denizens of Harmony? We will have to tune in to find out!
Based on the rich history and mystery of the harbor community of Harmony, \\\\\\\"Passions\\\\\\\" explores the lives, loves and losses of four core families: the Cranes, the Lopez-Fitzgeralds, the Bennetts and the Russells, each of whom have their own distinct and diverse personalities.  It also features a 300-year-old witch, Tabitha Lenox (Juliet Mills).

\\\\\\\"Passions\\\\\\\" is the creation of celebrated daytime drama scribe, James E. Reilly, who is considered by many industry insiders to be one of the most innovative and prolific writers of the genre.  Reilly has created some of the most talked-about storytelling in daytime drama, including characters who are buried alive, or possessed, as well as daytime\\\'s first-ever multiple character on NBC\\\'s \\\\\\\"Days of Our Lives.\\\\\\\"

\\\\\\\"Passions\\\\\\\" is produced by NBC Studios in association Outpost Farms Productions, Inc. and is taped in Studio City, California. Lisa de Cazotte is the executive producer.
