New Character to Shake Things Up in Harmony This August
(Studio City, CA. June 30, 2005) -- Adrian Wilson has joined the NBC Daytime drama, Passions, in the contract role of Christopher Boothe, it was announced today by Executive Producer Lisa de Cazotte.ï¿½ ï¿½Chris comes to Harmony at a time when the populace is trying to rally after a series of devastating natural disasters.ï¿½ His influence on many of the key characters in our story will be profound,ï¿½ de Cazotte explains.
Wilson studied marketing and advertising in his native Capetown, South Africa, before coming to the United States eight years ago to pursue a modeling career.ï¿½ï¿½ Succeeding in that effort, Wilson began studying acting and auditioning for leading roles.ï¿½ In addition to his role on Passions, Wilson will soon be seen in the Hallmark Channelï¿½s sci-fi movie, Supernova, co-starring Peter Fonda, Luke Perry and Tia Carrera .
The 6ï¿½2ï¿½ actor resides in Santa Monica, California, with his new bride, Kai.ï¿½ Athletic and adventurous, Wilson enjoys rugby, the beach and traveling.ï¿½ But we are going to have to wait a bit before we get to see his character, Christopher, in action in Harmony.ï¿½ His first airdate on Passions is scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2005.
Since the series debut on July 5, 1999, the Emmyï¿½ Award winning Passion quirky characters and classic love stories have generated interest and critical acclaim from the daytime community (Passions has been nominated for 25 Emmy Awards, winning three; numerous Soap Opera Digest Awards and NAACP Image Awards and has won three IMAGEN Awards) as well as the press, TV Guide (Best Soap 1999 and 2000), Entertainment Weekly ("...comedy, drama, camp classic, soap send up, 'Passions' works."), USA Today ("..has a gift for head-turning plots.") and Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly both named it (a "Hot, Guilty Pleasure").
Based on the rich history and mystery of the harbor community of Harmony, Passions explores the lives, loves and losses of four core families: the Cranes, the Lopez-Fitzgeralds, the Bennetts and the Russells, each of whom have their own distinct and diverse challenges and desires.
Passions, which was recently picked up for its seventh season by NBC Universal Television, is the creation of celebrated daytime drama scribe James E. Reilly, who is considered by many industry insiders to be one of the most innovative and prolific writers of his time (TV Guide named him one of Television's Most Valuable Players, February 2001). Passions is produced by NBC Universal Television Studios in association with Outpost Farms Productions, Inc. and is taped in Studio City, CA. Lisa de Cazotte is the Executive Producer.
