Nationwide casting call for sexy leading man with great build

NBC Daytime Searches New York City. Los Angeles and Miami for a New Hunk to Heat Up Passions

Open Casting Calls To Be Held in Early February

1-30-04:  LA Auditions Just Added

BURBANK, Calif. -- January 22, 2004 -- NBC Daytime will be holding open casting calls in New York City,  Los Angeles, and in Miami to find a new hunk for the hit soap opera, "Passions," it was announced today by Sheraton Kalouria, Senior Vice President of Daytime Programming, NBC Entertainment. All we know about the character is that his name is "Ric."

In addition, the actor must be a Caucasian or Hispanic, charismatic, sexy leading man type, who is at least 5'11 with a fantastic, physically fit build. The actor must be willing to relocate to Los Angeles, and should be prepared with a photo and resume to present at the audition. The "Ric" role begins taping in Spring/Summer 2004.

The search will take place on Tuesday, February 3 in New York (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) at Shelter Studios (939 Eighth Avenue, 4th floor, NYC); in Los Angeles on Thursday, February 5 (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) at The Highlands Nightclub (6801 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood); and, on Friday, February 6 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) at Ellen Jacoby Casting (300 Biscayne Blvd. Way, Suite 1150) in Miami, Florida.

This is not the first time Passions has held open casting calls.  Several of its current stars, including James Hyde (Sam) and Jesse Metcalfe (Miguel), were discovered in a search back in 1999, when Passions premiered. Interested parties can visit NBC.com/daytime for more information.

Based on the rich history and mystery of the harbor community of Harmony, "Passions" explores the lives, loves and losses of four core families: the Cranes, the Lopez-Fitzgeralds, the Bennetts and the Russells, each of whom have their own distinct and diverse personalities. It also features a 300-year-old witch, Tabitha Lenox (Juliet Mills).

"Passions" is a creation of celebrated daytime drama veteran James E. Reilly, who is considered by many industry insiders to be one of the most innovative and prolific writers of the genre. Reilly has created some of the most talked-about storytelling in daytime drama, including characters who are buried alive, or possessed, as well as daytime's first-ever multiple character on NBC's "Days of Our Lives."

"Passions" is produced by NBC Studios in association Outpost Farms Productions, Inc. and is taped in Studio City, California. Lisa de Cazotte is the executive producer.
