Critchlow replaces Michael Woods as psyche doc in Harmony

Passions Pulls Switcheroo -- Now Casting Roark Critchlow for Psych Doc Recurring Role

Two weeks ago, Soapdom broke the news that Passions cast soap vet Michael Woods in the role of Dr. Ackland, and that he would begin appearing in the role on December 22, 2003. Read the story here!

But as things can go in the world of soapdom, Passions has just pulled a switcheroo!  Soapdom was contacted over the weekend with news that Roark Critchlow will be joining the cast of PASSIONS in the recurring role of Dr. Ackland, the world-renowned psychiatric doctor from Boston who comes to assist with a very important case.

Here's what Passions Creator and Head writer, James A. Reilly, notes about the character: "Dr. Ackland, the famous new director of Psychiatry at the Harmony Hospital has dealt with many odd and bizarre cases in his medical career; his newest case involves the strangest person he's met in his life... but it's not his patient.”

Critchlow is well known for his role as Dr. Mike Horton on Days of Our Lives.  His other credits include “Mr. Deeds,” “A View from the Top,” “Coming Clean,” “Making it Home” and “Cadence.”  He recently completed an episode of the critically acclaimed new show “Joan of Arcadia” where he portrayed “God.”

So why is Woods out and Critchlow in?  At this point, your guess is as good as ours, but stick with Soapdom as we stay on top of this breaking story.  Crichlow’s first airdate will be Friday, December 26.
