EMMY Award Winner Eden Riegel Returns to AMC
Eden Riegel (Bianca, AMC)Daytime Emmy(r) Award Winner Eden Riegel returns to "All My Children," playing the critically acclaimed role of Bianca Montgomery, it was announced by Brian Frons, President, Daytime, Disney, ABC Television Group. Her first airdate is scheduled for OCTOBER 11, 2006.

"I am thrilled to have Eden return to 'All My Children,'" says executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers.  "She continues to be a cherished member of this talented ensemble. Bianca's presence enriches the canvas, and we all look forward to having her back home."

Riegel's portrayal of Bianca began to make headlines in 2000, when Bianca came out as daytimes' first contracted lesbian character. Since then, the integrity of the show's writing and Riegel's performance continued to gain tremendous recognition and support throughout the entertainment industry, with viewers and within the gay and lesbian community. The show has been recognized by GLAAD in receiving three of its prestigious media awards for outstanding daytime drama, and Bianca was named the organization's favorite out image in 2003. Riegel was awarded the 2005 Daytime Emmy(r) Award in the Outstanding Younger Actress category.

Riegel returned to AMC three other times since her departure in early 2005.  Soapdom caught up with Riegel last December as she performed a reading of the play Agnes of God in Los Angeles. Read the exclusive interview here.  Even then, her face lit up at the mention of AMC. With the introduction of the character of Sean Montgomery, it will be interesting to see how Bianca will deal with him.  Just how her return will impact the lives of the rest of her Pine Valley family remains to be seen.  Stay tuned.

Greg Vaughan dedicated to being a man of the cloth

Greg Vaughan enjoys playing the holier than thou role of Father Eric Brady on Days of our Lives and says the character suits him just fine.

"You know, it really does. I'm enjoying this role" Vaughan said. "And I am a religious person. After all...I come from the bible belt of the country (Texas)."

The character of Eric was last seen on Days of our Lives about a 12 years ago, then played by Jensen Eckles (who now stars as FBI agent Dean Winchester on the CW's Supernatural). When the character left Salem, he was quite the "playboy." So who would of thought he'd return as a man of the cloth?
