Casting ins and outs on General Hospital
General Hospital just announced that a new character is heading to Port Charles. She is a doctor, a pediatrician to be precise, and her name is Maggie. Dr. Mags (as Soapdom will be inclined to call her) will be played by soapdom newcomer, Kodi Kitchen. Just who the good doctor will be interacting with at the hospital and beyond remains to be seen. Dr. Maggie is a contract role. Kitchen's first airdate as Dr. Maggie is Thursday, November 10, 2011. Be sure to tune in! Find out more on Kodi Kitchen here.
Soapdom has learned that Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina) is out General Hospital. Word is they are recasting to age the character (can you say SORAS?) to make a relationship with Ethan and Kristina more convincing. Stay tuned. Soapdom wishes Ainsworth the best in future endeavors.
Soapdom is saddened to report that
Kirsten Storms has taken ill. We wish her a speedy recovery as does the cast and crew of General Hospital. Due to her illness, however, the role of Maxie Jones will be temporarily recast. Jen Lilley will step into the role, first appearing on September 28th. We all look forward to welcoming Storms back to the set soon.
Fred Cross plays MacLeod. His first airdate is October 18. The role is recurring.
Also in a recurring role, Angie DeGrazia joins the cast October 18 as the character of Briggs.
Rachel L. Hollingsworth comes on board on October 27 in the recurring role of Ranelle.
Joanne Scorcia plays Sandy. Her first airdate is October 27. This is a recurring role.
Laurie Johnson joins the cast in the recurring role of Mrs. MacInerny. Her first airdate is October 28.
