Casting ins and outs on General Hospital
Mathew Borghlingi (ex Brian Bodine, All My Children) heads to Port Charles as Valentin. He was originally to start October 14, but his arrival has been pushed back a bit. Soon as we know when we will share. Meantime, know that Valentin will be wrapped up in a big Cassadine brouhaha that affects Luke, Helena, Lulu and Ethan. Here's an interesting tidbit. The character's name was originally to be "Vlad." With a name like that, plus the fact that Helena is terrified of this person, could Vlad -- er now Valentin -- have anything to do with the undead? Stay tuned. This is a recurring role. NEW: We have just learned that Matthew Borlenghi’s stint on General Hospital as Valentin has been pushed until after the new year. Find out more.
Jennifer Lyons will play “Jennifer Biles” on 3/3.
Donald Agnelli (Carolyn Hennesy’s husband) will play a Biker in Jake’s on 3/5.
Jan Devereaux will be “Iris,” starting March 5.
Barry Saltzman will be the U5 “Lab Tech,” starting March 3.
Rick Overton will be “Robaire,” starting March 8.
Hazel Calderon and Kristina Joy Gutierrez are the U5 “Casino Girls,” starting March 11.
Guiding Light fans heads up! Bradley Cole (ex Jeffrey) is on his way to Port Charles. He will play Warren Bauer, Kiefer’s father. Watch for him to hit the scene sometime in March.
Lisa Waltz is playing Melinda Bauer, Kiefer’s mom. Her first airdate is in March.
Dani Thorne will be “Britney” and Salina Marie Carter will be “Ashton,” a couple of school friends of Kristina’s she runs into at Kelly’s, airs March 25th.
Jess Rowland will be “Conan” who works at the restaurant, beginning March 26th for a few episodes.
Annie Ilonzeh has been cast as Maya Ward. Her previous roles include MELROSE PLACE, MISS MARCH, HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Whe will likewise appear in the upcoming film PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS. Okay great. But what's her character's reason for hitting Port Charles? Well, Justus’ sister is Maya’s mother Faith Ward, who also happens to be Edward’s great grand-daughter. Maya is going to play heavily with the Quartermaines and will catch the eye of a Spencer. Which one? She’s also going to be an intern in the hospital and has no patience for bad boys since something happened to her in the past. Looks like she is going to bring a ton of fun to town. Her first airdate is March 31st. Stay tuned.
Michael Learned (WALTONS) is joining the cast of GH in the role of Shirley Smith, a cancer patient. Smith comes to General Hospital to get treatment for her late-stage cancer. She will be in story with Patrick, Robin, Lisa, Elizabeth, Steven, Epiphany, Monica and others in the hospital. Learned's irst tape day is mid March, first airdate early April. This is a recurring role for a month or so.
