Nick awakes to find Taylor standing over the bassinette. Taylor still cannot accept that Jack belongs her, even though Brooke signed the papers. Taylor feels guilty for the disconnect she feels with the baby she carried for eight months. Nick is frustrated, nothing he says can comfort his wife. It’s time to stop talking and start acting, Nick decides.
After a shower and getting dressed, Taylor manages to let a smile creep out as she holds a stuffed animal intended for Jack. Nick had left the house while she was showering but has returned “I’m back.” Taylor’s smile dissolves. Now that she's thinking a little more clear headed, she realizes how unfair she has been to Nick. Taylor apologizes for not being there for him, while he has been going through the same tragedy she has. Taylor can’t face her husband until she hears the gurgle of a baby.
Nick is standing in the doorway holding Jack. Nick places the baby in her arms. They admire their son. Taylor seems to be happy and greatly improved just being able to hold Jack like a mother should.
Eric is scribbling away at his sketch pad. He is happy and inspired. Brooke is glad to see the old Eric back in action. Brooke tells Eric that she and Ridge are back together. Eric is thrilled to hear the news, but does feel sorry for Ashley. Brooke agrees, she feels sorry for Ashley, and promises to keep the office environment as peaceful as possible. It’s going to help that Brooke doesn’t have to see Stephanie every day she explains. Eric promises he will not allow Stephanie in the office building.
Enough about that. Brooke wants the skinny on her skinny sister, Donna! Eric is amused by Brooke’s candor. Eric is in the process of explaining his relationship to Brooke when Donna walks in. Eric assures Brooke there is more to his relationship than just an affair. Donna seconds that. The two fall all over each other trying to convince Brooke that they are in love. After what just happened with Thorne, and Donna’s obsession to get revenge on Stephanie, Brooke isn’t easily sold.
In private, Donna swears that she is in love with Eric for real this time. Donna doesn’t understand why Brooke is concerned about Stephanie, after Donna admits she wants Eric to divorce the old witch, as soon as possible. Brooke would just like to have peace for once, and she doesn’t intend on ruining her life by carrying around a vendetta and hate.
Donna has a newsflash for Brooke. If Stephanie isn’t completely out of the picture, Brooke will never get the life she wants. It’s her or us, Donna proclaims. It’s time for Donna to take matters into her own hands. Donna calls Nick, asking him to meet her. Nick would prefer to stay with his wife and new baby but agrees to meet, after Donna reveals that she has a bombshell regarding Brooke’s rape.
At Brooke’s house ,Donna doesn’t hold back. She tells Nick every last detail about what really happened leading up to Brooke’s rape, and who was involved.
Back at the office, Brooke’s chipper mood is squashed when in walks Stephanie, closing the door behind her and acting as if nothing has changed. Brooke screams at Stephanie to get out.
