Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B) Photo (c)CBS)In a network switcheroo, Scott Clifton (ex Schuyler, One Life to Live) joins the cast in the contract role of "Liam Cooper" on the Emmy® award winning daytime drama, The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B), it was announced today.

Clifton is definitely no stranger to daytime television. As ABC soap fans know, he most recently appeared as "Schuyler Joplin" on Once Life to Live (from 2009 – 2010). His performance garnered a Daytime Emmy® award nomination in the category of "Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series." Clifton spent 2003 – 2007 portraying "Dillon Quartermaine" on General Hospital, where he was also nominated three times (2004, 2005, and 2006) for an Emmy® in the same category.

In addition to daytime dramas, Clifton has appeared in many motion pictures as well as guest starred on numerous primetime television hits such as Judging Amy, Undressed, and Roswell. His film credits include The Death Strip, Arizona Summer, and Terminal Error. Clifton also lent his voice to the IO Interactive video game, Hitman V, to be released later this year.

If that weren't enough, Clifton is likewise an accomplished singer and songwriter. He has self-released albums entitled "Untitled," "Unbeautiful," "So Much for the Night Life," and "Mannequin," with the assistance of his mentor and famed music producer, Jeff Pescetto.

Just how Clifton's character of Liam will impact the lives of the denizens of the fashion world remains to be seen. He began taping on The Bold and the Beautiful on May 25th. His first airdate is scheduled for July 19, 2010. Be sure to tune in!

Oh yeah, and we just thought we'd remind you that on August 30, 2009, The Bold and the Beautiful won the Emmy for "Outstanding Drama Series" at the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards. On June 11, 2009, B&B was the recipient of the Golden Nymph Award at the International TV Audience Awards in the "Telenovela/Soap Opera" category at the Monte Carlo Television Festival awards ceremony, confirming that in its genre, with an estimated 35 million daily viewers, it remains the most watched series in the world.

Wonderful to see soap stars branching out and doing musicals and appearing on stage. For Bobby Steggert, (Ex-Sam Grey of All My Children), he is not only brilliantly dazzling, but totally lights up the stage starring as Will in "Big Fish" the musical in Chicago thru May 5th.

The show is not only rich in story, but the sets, music, lighting, and the cast just illuminates. Tony Award winner, Norbert Leo Buts stars as Edward Bloom, Tony nominee Kate Baldwin, as Sandra Bloom, and Tony nominee, Bobby Steggert as son, Will.
