As previously reported in Soapdom's Bold and the Beautiful Casting column, Adam Gregory joins the cast of the Los Angeles-based fashion mogul soap in the contract role of "Thomas Forrester." B&B fans know that Thomas is the only son and eldest child, of "Ridge Forrester" and "Dr. Taylor Hayes" (portrayed by Ronn Moss and Hunter Tylo, respectively) and older brother to "Steffy Forrester" (portrayed by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Gregory replaces Daytime Emmy winner, Drew Tyler Bell, who played the role of Thomas Forrester first on contract, and then on recurring status from 2004 to 2010. He won the Daytime Emmy in 2010 for his work on the soap in 2009. It is not clear why the show shifted gears, whether it was Bell's doing or producers'. If the later was the cause, guess winning an Emmy doesn't hold as much water as it once did.
The tall, dark, handsome Gregory is a newcomer to Daytime Television. He is best known for his preppy-bad-boy character, "Ty Collins," on 90210. His additional television credits include, Wizards of Waverly Place and Just Jordan. Gregory also starred alongside Miley Cyrus in Hannah Montana: The Movie and with Zac Efron in 17 Again. He can also be seen as Ashley Tisdale's cheating ex-boyfriend in her music video for her hit song, "It's Alright, It's OK."
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Gregory attended Northern Kentucky University where he majored in Musical Theater and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Just how B&B plans on using the Thomas character now with the new casting remains to be seen. Gregory began taping on The Bold and the Beautiful on August 24th. His first airdate is scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Be sure to tune in to see how it all plays out.
