Betty White (Ann, Bold and the Beautiful) (c) JPIAs previously reported in Soapdom's Bold and the Beautiful casting, multiple Emmy® Award-winning actress Betty White ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "The Golden Girls") will reprise her role as the cantankerous and controlling "Ann Douglas," mother of "Stephanie" (played by original cast member Susan Flannery) and "Pamela" (played by Alley Mills) on The Bold and the Beautiful in a powerfully written and acted story-arc that centers on the family dynamics of mothers, daughters and sisters; contrition, forgiveness and acceptance. White, as you've never seen her before, delivers the performances of her lifetime on November 18, 19, 20 and 23 when "Ann" unexpectedly returns to Los Angeles and attempts to control and manipulate her daughters, as well as her fate.

Additionally, in a first for daytime television, two of the episodes, airing November 20 and 23, will have an all female cast including series regulars Susan Flannery, Alley Mills, Hunter Tylo and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood along with guest-star Yvette Freeman, ("Nurse Haleh Adams" on E.R.,) as "Dr. Lewis." All principal and under-five players are also female.

White has played the role of "Ann Douglas" on The Bold and the Beautiful since December of 2005, when "Stephanie" revealed to her stunned family that her mother is still alive and the terrible secret that the Douglas family shared. She is best known for her Emmy®-Award winning roles as "Sue Ann Nivens" on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and "Rose Nylund" on The Golden Girls. Her numerous other television credits include Mama's Family, Ally McBeal, That 70's Show, Everwood, Malcom in the Middle, The Practice, Boston Legal and 30 Rock. White also starred in the recently released feature film The Proposal, with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

On August 30, 2009, The Bold and the Beautiful was the recipient of "Outstanding Drama Series" at the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards in addition to acquiring the Emmy® for "Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling for a Drama Series" at the Creative Arts Emmy® Awards, which took place the evening before.

On June 11, 2009, The Bold and the Beautiful was the recipient of the Golden Nymph Award at the International TV Audience Awards in the "Telenovela/Soap Opera" category at the Monte Carlo Television Festival awards ceremony, confirming that it remains the world's most watched series in its genre. This is the fourth consecutive year that the series has been the recipient of this award.

The Bold and the Beautiful, which celebrated its 22nd anniversary on Monday, March 23, 2009, is a Bell-Phillip Television production, broadcast weekdays (1:30-2:00 PM, ET; 12:30-1:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network. Bradley P. Bell is the Executive Producer and Head Writer. The first and only daytime drama to simulcast in Spanish utilizing SAP (Secondary Audio Program) technology, the show is the most watched daily dramatic serial in the world, viewed in more than 100 countries.

Soapdom welcomes Betty White back into the fold at B&B.

Days of our Lives makes history with first gay male wedding

The big day finally has come! Days of our Lives made history, and it was no April fools joke. The show is known for its long standing reputation for having storylines that are firsts, or tackling controversial subjects, or going out on a limb. I mean who can forget being possessed by the devil? Well! The show just aired the first gay male wedding making the first such event in daytime television.

The story was handled impeccably, and done tastefully. The same sex relationship has been moving slowing through trials and tribulations for the last several years.

First there was the acknowledging who you are. Then the accepting, and finally the coming out. And now the jubilant wedding of the duo known as WilSon. Will Horton (Guy Wilson) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) is taking the relationship into orbit, or like the old original Star Trek show said, 'to go where no man has gone before,' at least not on a daytime drama.
