Episode #12,806----Today is Benjamin Hendrickson’s (Hal) last air date.

Dusty tells Lucy that if she’s looking for absolution, she’s not going to get it here. He won’t ever be able to look at her again without thinking of Jennifer’s death. Later, Damian comforts her. He suggests Lucy come home to him and her cousin Luke.

Barbara, moved by how much Will and Gwen have helped her through Jen’s death, promises to become less controlling and tells Will she’s releasing his trust fund. Not just for him, but for Gwen, too. Barbara says she now completely accepts their marriage… After Margo gives Hal a card from Adam and tells him that sometimes loving your children means not holding on too tightly, Hal allows Parker to move back in with Carly. Meanwhile, Paul tells Emily he intends to file for sole custody of their baby. Tom tells Susan that Emily’s hearing is the next day and she won’t be coming back to the hospital. Emily rages that Dusty and Paul won’t obey Jen’s wishes and forgive her. Meg tells Paul he is doing exactly what Jennifer asked him not to do.

Casey reaches out to Maddie and she tries to tell him what’s going on without really telling him what’s going on, but can’t help freaking out when he touches her. She jumps up and leaves. Later, Lia lies and tells Maddie she and Casey are now dating. Maddie is crushed.

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
