Episode #12,822----Maddie overhears Will and Jade talk about sleeping together and confronts them. Will insists she can’t tell anyone, and the words trigger another flashback. Maddie swears she won’t tell, but Jade isn’t satisfied. Later, Maddie sees a knife-wielding assailant who prepares to cut her throat. She escapes and jumps into a boat, but the killer follows and dumps her overboard, holding Maddie’s head down.

Lucy agrees to Holden’s request that she investigate Damian’s mysterious illness. She feigns sympathy and he embraces her. Lucinda sees. She accuses Lucy of having a thing for manipulative men – like her father. Lucy refuses to live with Lucinda anymore, so Damian invites her to Fairwinds. Turns out she, Lucinda and Holden staged the whole thing. Lucy goes rifling through Damian’s drawers, but he catches her.

Carly promised the kids a fun night at home when Simon calls and insists she come over, ASAP. Turns out his emergency is for them to have dinner in full view of Mike and Katie. Carly refuses to be used and storms out, quitting. She comes home to an angry Jack saying her sitter caused a blackout so he sent the kids to Emma’s. Carly tells him to go away. Later, she hears a male voice saying, “Sorry.” She turns expecting Jack, but finds Simon.

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
