Episode #12,740 -- Meg is shocked that Paul would take the risk of coming to her room, but he says it’s so they can make a copy of the key she found in Emily’s purse. They make the copy and Paul swears to Meg that his being with Emily means nothing – Meg is the woman he wants. Meanwhile, Emily finds Dusty outside and drags him back to the farmhouse. Dusty asks why she doesn’t just go ahead and kill him? Emily tells him she’ll let him know what their next move is, then returns to the Lakeview in time to catch Paul with Meg, though Paul doesn’t see Emily. Back in their room, she confronts Paul about it, but he denies having seen Meg. Emily, suddenly no longer amorous, tells him she has a headache and is going to bed. As no one steps forward claiming to be Anonymous, Jack accuses Carly of making a fool of him yet again by writing “Oakdale Confidential.” She begs him to admit that they belong together, but Jack breaks Carly’s heart and leaves. Gwen finds Carly sobbing and the sisters have a true bonding moment. Carly realizes Gwen married Will and wishes her every happiness. At the same time, Lily is telling Jack that his leaving Carly is for the best – as long as it’s just a temporary break for them to reevaluate their marriage. But Jack tells her this is no temporary split. This is for good. Meanwhile, Mike is confronting Maddie about writing “Oakdale Confidential.” She denies, but then Kim comes by to compliment Maddie on how well she utilized all that research on Oakdale history that Kim gave her, and Margo thanks Maddie for the kind words about her in the book – giving Maddie and Casey permission to date. Casey thinks that’s great. Maddie said it would be – if she ever wanted to see Casey again, which she most certainly does not. Katie thinks Mike is making too big a deal out of this work of fiction, but Mike thinks Katie isn’t concerned enough – and he wants to know why. Katie convinces Mike that their being together is what matters, not some stupid book, and they melt into a kiss.
