Episode #13,354----At the WOAK station, Brad, Katie and Janet are upset and confused as to why Jack quit the force, but they have to cover their concerns when Kim walks in. She wants them to cover the events at Snyder Farm.

At Snyder Farm, Carly and Jack find Ethan’s shoe at the construction site. They call Lily and Holden over and everyone fears that Ethan’s fallen to his demise in the hole. Everyone’s relieved when they hear Ethan’s voice from the bottom of the hole and the police are called in to help get Ethan out. When Carly offers to help, Lily lashes out at her. Carly continues to be helpful and later Lily expresses her gratitude. Mike arrives and is horrified to discover what happened at his dig site. He insists the hole was covered with heavy planks that Ethan never would have been able to lift on his own. When Paul arrives, he secretly feels guilty that Ethan fell in the hole he left uncovered. He returns home to Meg, worried that she might find out about his negligence and assume he’ll be a bad father but James overhears his concerns and encourages him to get his priorities straight. Back at the site, all agree that someone must go down to rescue Ethan. Mike would do it but Holden demands that he do it himself. Paul arrives, anxious to go down the hole himself and look for the treasure but Emma tells Holden to go.

Henry briefly escapes James’s cell only to be caught by Derek and locked up more securely.

Vienna and Bonnie, still locked up in the warehouse, try to yell for help but no one hears them. After arguing for the whole day, they fall asleep trying to keep each other warm.

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
