Episode #13,422----Luke comes to the police station to talk to Jade and ask her forgiveness but she won’t. Just before Jade is about to be sent back to Florida, Derek returns with Robby, Jade’s ex-boyfriend who tricked Jade into driving his getaway car. Lily, Holden, Bonnie come to the police station hoping Jade will be released. Robby attempts to escape by holding Jade hostage, but Derek talks him down. Lily and Bonnie are both tempted to explain to Jade why Derek worked so hard to help her, but he refuses to tell Jade. Finally Jade confronts Lily, guessing the truth, and Lily confirms that she thinks Derek is Jade’s father.

Casey finds he’s not so ready to dive into a relationship once Maddie makes it clear she wants to get back together with him. Later, knowing Maddie will be with him and Luke, Noah sees Casey and invites him to the New Years Eve party and he accepts but later goes to Margo to say he’s not sure how to proceed with Maddie. Meanwhile, Maddie goes to buy something fabulous for the party. Later, Noah gives Maddie a reassuring hug that everything will be okay with Casey and Luke (upset over Jade) sees. Noah tells him not to be jealous, and Luke says he won’t be, if Noah promises they can spend time together on New Year’s Eve.

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
