As Holden tells Jack he honors Carly’s friendship, Carly greets arriving Barbara and Sofie. But when Sofie spots Meg entering with Mike, she hurries off to make a call. Natalie and Faith help Lily pick a dress. Holden wants to keep busy to keep his mind off Lily. Carly commiserates. Lily’s nervous as she anticipates her reunion with Holden.
Sofie’s frustrated as she gets Paul’s machine. When Paul hears that Meg is at Metro, he grabs the phone and considers Sofie’s suggestion that he break the restraining order “by accident.” Paul arrives, surprising Meg, observed by Sofie, as Holden asks Carly to dance. Faith is concerned that Lily and Holden won’t get back together, but Lucinda reassures. Lily enters and she and Holden lock eyes. Holden tells Lily he’s glad she’s back, and Carly doesn’t rise to Jack’s sarcasm over her losing Holden’s attention. When Paul won’t leave Meg alone, Mike asks Jack to arrest him for violating the restraining order. Carly reassures Lily that Holden has missed her terribly; and Paul, sensing Meg’s attention, puts on a show by dancing with Sofie. Liberty gives Parker a call and realizes she has much to teach him about dodging trouble. Meg, unable to keep her eyes off Paul, leaves with Mike. And Paul unintentionally encourages Sofie as he ends their dance. Lily, eager to be alone with Holden, sends encouraging Lucinda home. Carly gently tells Jack she doesn’t need his help. Holden gently tells Lily he’s not ready to make love.
Proud Brad and wary Katie deliver Liberty to her new room, then Brad wants to party alone with Katie – then he and Katie hear loud music and a crash. Katie’s unsure about leaving Liberty alone, but Brad lays down ground rules – no leaving the room and no guests – before leaving with unrepentant Liberty alone. Brad’s preening in his new father status, but Jack talks to Katie about the problems of raising teenagers. Katie dismisses Jack and walks off. Liberty calls Parker claiming she’s being harassed by a lascivious doorman, and urges him to come over. Liberty admits she got Parker there under false pretenses. Brad’s ready to get romantic with Katie; but she wants to check on Liberty first. When Brad knocks on Liberty’s door, she claims to be naked as Parker worries about getting caught. Brad and Katie wish seemingly innocent Liberty good night. Brad and Katie are finally getting down to making love when they’re interrupted by a knock on the door – and Katie answers to a sexy woman who claims Brad called her. When the woman barges in and gives Brad a hug, he realizes it’s Juicy Janet, Liberty’s mother. Brad vetoes Janet’s suggestion that they talk immediately, but is thrown when Janet has no place to stay. Brad tells Liberty that Janet will be bunking with her, and Janet (alone with Liberty) likes how Brad looks and lives. Katie’s hesitant – at first – to make love with thoughts of Janet floating in her head.
Barbara’s impressed with Sofie’s jewelry work, but all Sofie can think about is Paul. Barbara thinks a new dress and going to Metro are the perfect distractions for Sofie’s thoughts of Paul.
