Jack's horrified that he's injured Brad. Margo and the cops arrive with EMT's and everyone is taken to the hospital, but Ralph escapes. Once at the hospital, everyone tries to keep Brad's dire condition a secret from Katie. Katie's suspicions are aroused when she sees Jack and Janet emerge from the room across from hers. Katie sneaks over to the room to investigate and she finds her unconscious husband. Meanwhile, Jack doesn't tell Margo he was slightly drunk when he accidently shot Brad. Janet's shocked. Later, Audrey convinces Margo to release her so she can find Ralph. Margo complies. Instead Audrey asks Henry for her 50% of the Stenbeck fortune so she can skip town. Bob gives Katie a moment alone with Brad, who wakes up. Katie is thrilled. She tells him how he helped her in the warehouse, and all about their son. Brad says he has a name picked out but then codes. Katie rushes up to get herson to show Brad, to help him back, but by the time she returns she knows that Brad has died. Jack and Janet are also there, Jack having heard from Bob that Brad had made some progress. Katie, and Jack, are heartbroken, as is Henry. Kim consoles Janet. Meanwhile, Barbara wants Audrey arrested but Margo has let her go, hoping she'll lead them to Ralph. Audrey loses the cop at the hospital ladies' room, but after escaping through the window, she comes face-to-face with Barbara. They fight and Barbara slips her cell phone into Audrey's bag. Audrey cashes the check Henry gave her and is filling up her gas tank to flee when Barbara, Margo and a cop track her down and corner her. Audrey then escapes into the woods.
Meanwhile, Jack returns to work. Officer Bridges, a young cop, and others are surprised to see Jack. There's a call that Sal, one of Ralph's "mechanics" was spotted in the alley behind Yo's. Jack and Bridges go, but Jack starts to have a panic attack as Bridges finds Sal. Meanwhile, Ralph surprises Teri at Metro, where he asks her to help him get to Chicago. Teri's alarmed by his gunshot wound and she goes to the hospital to get a few supplies. There she runs into Dusty who finally convinces her Ralph is bad news. Teri returns to her uncle and begs him to turn himself in. Ralph responds by pulling a gun on her. Dusty goes to Metro to talk to Teri. She tries to let him know that Ralph is there. When Teri and Ralph go to leave, Dusty remains outside the door. Meanwhile, the doctor says Katie could be released, but also offers her a place down the hall from her son. Katie declines the offer and wants to go home. Jack visits her at the hospital and tells her that he's the one who shot Brad, because he couldn't see. Katie, not angry at him, hugs Jack. Henry, inspired by Barbara, then comes to see Katie, but she doesn't want to see him again, ever. Jack pulls a gun on Craig for offering condolences that Jack feels are less than genuine. Later, Margo visits a dejected Katie. She sends to voicemail a call from Dusty that he's gift-wrapping Ralph, having told him he was arranging a car to bring him to the airport. Margo doesn't get this before Henry calls her, having found Teri tied up at Metro and hearing Dusty seemed to help Ralph get away. Margo and Teri go to the Lakeview and Ralph comes out with Dusty, gun in his back. Ralph escapes to Yo's where Henry, watching Oakdale Now's goodbye to Brad, spots him and tries to nab him, until Ralph is eventually apprehended.
Liberty goes to Paul and Emily to tell them she's lost the baby. Paul and Emily console Liberty, say there's no need to apologize to them. After Liberty leaves, Emily feels the loss more strongly. Liberty returns home and Janet comes up to console her. Later, Liberty sees that Janet is cooking through her own grief. Parker inadvertently lets Liberty know that Jack shot Brad.
Damian goes to see Lily, tells her he's not signing the annulment papers. Lily, meanwhile, is heading up to the cabin. Damian goes the Lakeview and sees that Holden is also going up to the cabin, also under the impression that it's to spend time with his kids and Lily. Damian tells him he's being set up. Damian will grant the annulment if Holden doesn't care if it was engineered. Holden's furious. Damian gets to the cabin first and tries to convince Lily that Holden's given up on their marriage. Damian kisses Lily in time for Holden to see. After seeing Lily and Damian embracing, Holden returns to the Lakeview. Maeve, who's been visited by Lucinda, and told to get out, sees Holden and asks if he wants company, which he does. They're about to make love but they stop when Holden realizes he's doing so out of revenge and not love. They agree to be friends. Holden goes downstairs to pick up sandwiches when Lily, who has turned down Damian, comes to Holden's room and sees Maeve there amidst the rumpled sheets. Maeve says Holden's in the shower. Holden returns with the sandwiches. Maeve says Lily stopped by but that Holden doesn't need her, should prefer a woman that puts him first. Holden declines Maeve's invitation and leaves town.
Alison's upset to see Maddie consoling Casey and generally being intimate with him.
