In a major casting coup, Guiding Light's loss is AMC's gain.  Stephanie Gatchet (ex Tammy, Guiding Light) joins the cast of All My Children in the recurring role of Madison North.  Madison is married to Pine Valley's District Attorney.  Just how she will interact with the other

denizens of Pine Valley remains to be seen.

Soap fans will remember Gatschet from her controvosial role on Guiding Light where she fell in love with firstcousin, Jonathan (played by Tom Pelphrey), and the relationship was developed as storyline.  Additionally, Gatschet and Pelphrey dated in real life, but was it simply an halcyon-Hollywood-days-type ploy?  You know, when a coupling is staged by managers and publicists for publicity purposes only.  Or were Gatschet and Pelphry's dating days the real thing?  Soapdom's heard it was the former, as Pelphrey already had a girlfriend. Meantime, Gatschet started as Tammy in 2002 but the character met an untimely demise in 2007 when she was hit by a car.  She first appears on the scene on All My Children on Friday, June 19, 2009.
