The winners of the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced Sunday evening, June 16, 2013 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA and broadcast live on the HLN cable network. Although the production quality of the program itself left much to be desired, Soapdom applauds HLN for continuing to support the Daytime genre.
And the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Award for daytime drama categories went to:
Outstanding Daytime Drama Days of our Lives Ken Corday who accepted the award, quipped, "It's been 38 years!" And we say, long over due for Days.

Carly makes an unforgivable mistake
This week, Carly actually outdid herself – she went too far ordering the hit on Franco. Because of Carly’s actions, Olivia was shot and seriously injured. At this point, we don’t know if the fair Olivia will survive.
I never thought I would see the day when Sonny would threaten Carly’s life and mean it. ‘If Olivia dies, you die,’ Sonny hissed to Carly. Somehow I believe Sonny meant every word of that threat. I think if Olivia dies, Sonny may just shoot Carly himself.

The Bold and the Beautiful has done it again! The world-watched soap opera was the recipient of the International TV Audience Award in the "Telenovela/Soap Opera" category today at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, confirming that it remains the world's most watched series in its genre. This is the eighth consecutive year that the series has been the recipient of this award.
Cast members Katherine Kelly Lang ("Brooke") and Don Diamont ("Bill") accepted the award on stage at the Closing Awards Ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum.

Eileen Davidson of Days of our Lives said that playing the role of Kristen Di Mera is "fun, exuberating, and exhausting", but think about it, what actress would not want to play her?
"I know! The part is so well written that whatever I'm doing I enjoy doing it," Davidson said. "The character of Kristen has I mean... done it all."
Admitting that someday she'd like to see Kristen give birth, but of course she can't have children. "Wild" and "Can't even imagine" is how Davidson described having a baby would be.

How many reality fans are out there in soapdom? Do you have your favorite reality couples? As I am sure you know, reality shows give birth to a fair amount of public romances, and a lot of public breakups. It's just like soap operas, but in real time! In reality (pun intended), fact is truer than fiction and some of these reality couples engage in more outlandish activities than the most contrived storylines on our favorite soaps.
As in real "everyday life," couples have their ups and downs. What's coming up roses one day, is cause to walk the plank on another. But when your personal life is played out on the airwaves for the world to see, it adds a new and distracting dimension to to being able to keep one's personal life personal.

Congratulations to Days of our Lives for increased ratings.
Days of our Lives has equaled its biggest women 18-49 audience in 18 months and set an 11-week high in total viewers, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures for the week of May 20-24 from Nielsen Media Research.
For the week, Days of our Lives averaged a 1.0 rating, 6 share among women 18-49 and a 0.6 rating among women 18-34, tying it for #4 among network daytime series in the women 18-49 demographic and tying it for #3 in the women 18-34 race.

Daytime and primetime veteran, Rena Sofer, has been cast in a contract role on The Bold and the Beautiful, Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Bell announced this week. Daytime Emmy® winner Sofer will play "Quinn Fuller," a jewelry designer and mother of "Wyatt Fuller" (played by Daytime Emmy® winner, Darin Brooks) who has long been keeping a dark secret.
"Rena's powerful screen presence and vast range as an actress is what intrigued me most", said Bell. "I look forward to challenging Rena with this role".

Judi Evans (Adrianne) of Days of our Lives has been dazzling daytime audiences for 30 years and she is celebrating with a party and is extending an invitation to you the fans to come to the star-studded event. (See Link Below) The event will also help to raise awareness in regard to the movement to stomp out bullying.
