Soapdom has just learned that The Bold and the Beautiful executive producer and head writer, Bradley Bell, and his wife Colleen, are the co-hosts of a major big ticket Los Angeles fundraiser for President Barack Obama.
Tickets for the event are set to cost $35,800 per person for dinner. Reportedly, there is to be a concert on the lawn prior to dinner (acts to be announced), with those tickets a paultry $250 each.
Comedian Will Ferrell and his wife are set t co-host this event.

Kate Mansi, who started airing on Days of our Lives as Abigail on March 2, 2011 is facing a lot of turning points for her character in 2012. Currently, she's in a love triangle with Chad (Casey Deidrick) and Melanie (Molly Burnett), there's a definite chemistry brewing between her and the much older and very married, Austin (Patrick Muldoon), and the possibility of a very cool job is on the horizon.
Mansi is loving her storyline and couldn't be happier about being a part of Days of our Lives.

Big news today in the world of seralized drama. Nickelodeon's Reach for a Star, a soap opera for teens to be executive produced by Jill Farren Phelps (General Hospital, One Life to Live) and Univision's Spanish language telenovelas to get English subtitles.
First, it was announced today by Nickelodeon via Cyma Zarghami, President of Viacom’s Nickelodeon Group; and Jose Baston President of Television and Content from Televisa, that they have green lit a new daily drama called Reach for a Star, about a teenage girl whose life changes completely when she becomes a star and wins the love of her teen idol.

According to a report in today's Los Angeles Times, soap opera star Victoria Rowell, who has played the character of Drucilla on The Young and the Restless, has just placed her Hollywood Hills home on the market for a paltry $2.599 million.
The actress and author's home is located in the Beachwood Canyon area of the Hollywood Hills, just beneath the Hollywood sign. It is nearly 4.400 square feet and sits on more than a quarter-acre lot with a swimming pool.

Happy 75th Birthday, Guiding Light
The iconic soap opera, and broadcast's longest running program (being on air first on radio and then television for over 73 years), celebrates it's 75th birthday, January 25, 2012.

Yesterday, the NAACP named the nominees in the 43rd NAACP Image Awards. Some of Soapdom's favorite stars got the nod. We asked Days of our Lives James Reynolds ("Abe Carver") how he felt about getting a nomination this year...

Vanessa Williams (Desperate Housewives), Tracee Ellis Ross (Reed Between the Lines), Corey Reynolds (The Closer) and Craig Robinson (The Office) walked the Red Carpet -- which in this case was a seafood green carpet -- then adjourned to the Paley Center theater to announce the nominees and categories.

ABC's One Life to Live replacement show, The Revolution, or The Revulsion as soap fans are calling it, debuted to less than auspicious ratings on Monday, January 16.
According to TV Week, "the initial results may have the network rethinking whether it was a good idea to cancel its long-running soap operas."
